Subject: Cornwall Gossip Update
Greetings once more from sunny Cornwall
I think when I get back I'll look into writing soap operas – certainly gleaning a good year's worth of material while I'm here.
Latest shocker, and a real doozy, this one, is that someone is really up to no good, and I mean more than just sleeping around… You know we've been given those Palm Pilot things by Joanna – the little Star Trek hand held I showed you… well, I was trying to find mine, which I'd taken notes from that old Danny fellow on (about whom more later)… anyway, it's kind of difficult to tell whose is whose, because no one's hand time to customise them… so I'm searching through the house and I see one on the dresser in Mary's room, so I go in, just to check, not snooping or anything – god forbid… well, maybe a little bit… anyway, I pick up the Palm thing and there's a text document open on it… and, unthinkingly, I read it – she says with a look of total innocence on her face… and from what I remember it went something like:
I know what you are. You are a murderer. You have spilled innocent blood and are guilty. You cannot hide forever.
Pretty good stuff, eh? Nice and gothic… of course, there's no way to tell whether its for real or not, in the first place, or who wrote it… it turned out it was Ray's hand held, but then again it was in Mary's room… but there's an interesting spin on this…
Went to see Danny on my own this afternoon and plied him with more booze, under the baleful eyes of less communicative locals, and he revealed something very interesting indeed. I think someone had been having a go at him after yesterday, because he seemed even more keen to let the cat out of the proverbial. It turns out that local rumour blames Ray for Joanna's sister's death. Apparently she, Mary and Ray were all friends and were all seen together on the day – although what this proves I don't know.
So this thing was written on Ray's hand held which was sitting in Mary's room – which is where I left it, btw – so go figure… getting very interesting down here indeed, can't decide whether I can't wait for the climax, or whether I'm enjoying the intrigue too much…
Oh, I found my Palm Pilot in the end, btw – hippy Cat had wandered off with it… cow (but that's another story) – how nice it is to have one's hand held once more, though…
More as the plot thickens

PS as ever give P. a kiss from me – if you can stand the whiska's breath.
